The Door of Repentance

Today’s Verse:
Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realize that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? – Romans 2:4

What a wonderful and gracious God we serve.

In response to our rebellion and sin, He showed us kindness and forbearance to lead us back to Him through repentance. We are certainly no different from the prodigal son who left his family to enjoy life in his own decadent way. When he had used up all his inheritance by squandering it, his father still loved and accepted him and even celebrated his return.

Friends, shame may overtake us at times when we attempt to restore our broken relationship with God. Always remember that His mercy is huge enough to forgive you. He is not against you, He is always anticipating and ready to celebrate every child who comes back to Him. The Door of forgiveness is always open for you to walk through.

So, no matter what has occurred, no matter the distance you have placed between you, Our Father stands with His door to forgiveness open to you today.

Today’s Prayer:
Father in heaven, thank You for being kind and patient toward me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to walk into your presence and obtain mercy.

Forgive me for the things I am ungrateful for and for the sins that I have committed. Purify me with the cleansing blood of Jesus and make me spotless in your sight again. Amen!
